Hi,
I'm currently building a scale model of Buffalo, I plan to build my model with RAAF No. 21 Sqn marking in Sungai Pertani , I wonder any of you have the
reference photo on any aircraft of this squadron, or can anyone tell me what is the fuselage markings code number of the aircraft with these serial. W8165,
W8169, W8170, W8206, W8212, W8214, W8224, W8227, W8236.

Hi All,
Alas, the issue of 21 Sqn aircraft and code allocations remains rather obscured by the mists of history. Of the aircraft listed in the original post, I have only positively identified one code letter match - W8224 was GA-M. Hope this is of some (albeit limited) use. Kind regards, Mark H (LKBS) |

Okay, I've paged through volume one (which goes to the fall of Singapore), and the only photo of a 21 Sq Buffalo shows Flt Lt Kinninmont in AN172. It shows
only the cockpit area, but there is an interesting shield of a tiger (lion?) rampant, with the motto underneath: SECUTORIN RETI.

Many thanks for your info. these are very valuable info for me to continue my build. now I am very interested to see how the boxing kangaroo and "Secutor in Reti" motto, I may want to add that to my model too, is there anyway for you to send a photo of it to my email.. masterqq@hotmail.com thanks.. Hi Thomas,
This pic is a section of fabric taken from a 21 Sqn Wirraway but it shows the badge and motto quite clearly. The background was dark blue, the kangaroo presumably shades of sandy brown and the boxing gloves were probably red. Hope this helps. Mark (LKBS)

I have painted my model based on the info obtained here..GA-M is it.. Thanks Dan, I wanted to include the Boxing Roo artwork on the model, I would like to know the location of the artwork, you mention that you have a photo of AN172, would you be able to scan it or take a photo of it to be, this will be very much appreciated... TIA here is a photo of inprogress.. still missing the serial # and Boxing Roo artwork..
